This private off-road adventure leads you deep into southern Crete’s most isolated mountain range, the Asterousia, where few travelers go. Your destination: the Monastery of Koudoumas, a 19th-century monastic complex built on a dramatic coastal shelf between the cliffs and the sea.
The Koudoumas Monastery is one of Crete’s most remote, spiritual, and dramatically located destinations, nestled between cliffs and the Libyan Sea at the base of the Asterousia Mountains. Due to the rugged dirt road, access is best done by Land Rover or 4×4, making it perfect for a private off-road experience.
Accessible only via a 14 km off-road descent, this is a journey of faith, silence, nature, and raw beauty — from mountaintop vistas to sea-carved caves. The tour is tailored for small groups (up to 8 guests) seeking solitude, spiritual depth, and connection to untouched Cretan landscapes.
