With this route we will learn the secrets of southern Crete and be amazed by its beauty. We combine ultimate exploration on land and sea. We explore unique traditional villages, visit folklore museums, admire breathtaking views over the mountains, experience the wild beauty of the Cretan mountains with the beautiful canyons, take photos of a stunning waterfall, and relax in the calm, turquoise sea of southern Crete.
We begin the journey with pick-up from your resort and drive south into the heart of Crete.
A short visit to meet a local shepherd and witness traditional goat and sheep herding practices.
We visit a family-run pottery workshop to see live demonstrations of traditional clay product crafting and learn about ancient Cretan techniques.
We visit a traditional olive mill and distillery where we learn the secrets of olive oil production and taste local raki.
Explore the architecture of old Crete, visit the folklore museum, and enjoy coffee under the centuries-old plane tree in the village square.
After an off-road climb to 850m altitude, we enjoy stunning panoramic views and watch Cretan vultures up close.
We arrive at the unique meeting point of two canyons and admire the waterfall. The flow is strong in May and gentler through summer.
We swim in turquoise waters for about 45 minutes, followed by lunch at a traditional tavern with unlimited wine and local dishes.
Full of pictures through a beautiful route we return to the hotel having done so much in just one day.
